Ovulation Induction

Ovulation induction involves using medications to stimulate the ovaries to produce and release an egg, helping women who ovulate irregularly or not at all to conceive.

Treatment may include oral medications like letrozole or clomiphene, or injectable hormones if needed, often alongside ultrasound monitoring.

Success rates vary depending on age, underlying causes, and the medication used, but many women with ovulation-related infertility are able to conceive with ovulation induction alone.

Ovulation induction may be needed by women who ovulate irregularly or not at all, often due to conditions like PCOS, hormonal imbalances, or disruptions in the brain–ovary signalling pathway.

It can also help those with long or unpredictable cycles, or women who are otherwise healthy but need support timing ovulation to improve their chances of conceiving.
